Satpuda Landscape Tiger Program

Supported by Born Free Foundation, UK

This project aims to ascertain the presence of large carnivores and good tiger habitat in the peripheral forests outside protected areas. Chances of survival of these carnivores are low due to the various threats and lack of protection. The objective of this project is to get recognition for this wildlife population and to expand the levels of protection beyond the boundaries of the tiger reserves.

A tigress with 4 cubs living in the peripheral forests of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve has been monitored and camera trap pictures of the family obtained over the last 18 months.
